About this model
The Astound FlexMount is the Astound you can install three ways: hang it on the wall, set it partly into the wall, or recess it fully with one, two or three sides open. Three widths from 50 to 74 inches, with an extra-large viewing area and a spark flame effect.
Three Ways to Install
- Wall mounted — hangs on a bracket and plugs into a standard 120V outlet
- Partially recessed — set into a shallow wall, protruding from the face, hardwired
- Fully recessed — flush in the wall, front only, front and one side, or three sides open, hardwired. The trim and side panels for this are included
Napoleon manual W415-4173 covers all three installation methods for the same NEFL50AB, NEFL62AB and NEFL74AB appliances: wall mounted (Section 2.3), partially recessed (Section 2.4) and fully recessed (Section 2.5). The manual gives bracket dimensions for the wall mounted installation and framing dimensions for the two recessed installations (Sections 2.4.1 and 2.5.2).

Controls
Flame without heat. The heater has three settings — off, fan only, or heat with fan — and the flame runs on its own. Turn the heater off and the FlexMount is a year-round flame effect with no heat at all.
- Heat — off, fan only, or heat and fan
- Thermostat — 64°F to 82°F
- ECO mode — runs the heater at half output
- Boost mode — full heat with increased fan speed
- Flame colour — orange and yellow, each with adjustable brightness, or both together
- Flame speed — adjustable
- Ember bed — selectable colours or colour cycle, adjustable brightness
- Top light — selectable colours or colour cycle
- Timer — 7-day on/off schedule
- Open window alert
- Napoleon Home app — power, heat, flame, ember bed, lights and timer from your phone

The Astound Built-in is recessed-only, comes in a 96" size, and has a flip-down front glass. The FlexMount gives you the wall-mount option and the choice of two- or three-sided recessed installs.

Will this fit my wall?
The dimensions on the page are the appliance body; framing and rough-opening sizes are different numbers and come from the manufacturer's installation manual linked on the page. Call or text (814) 440-4817 with your wall width and height and we'll confirm the right size before you order.
Do I need a professional to install it?
Gas appliances: yes, a licensed gas installer, and most jurisdictions require a permit and inspection. Electric fireplaces are simpler but hardwired models need an electrician. We don't install — we supply the manufacturer's installation manual and clearance specs so your installer and inspector have what they need.
What's included, and what do I need to add?
Each product page lists what ships in the box. Log sets, glass media, decorative fronts, mantels and venting kits are usually separate items — tell us what look you want and we'll put the complete build on one quote so it ships together where possible.
Is freight included, and how long until it arrives?
Freight is included to the 48 contiguous states, with liftgate delivery and no surcharges at checkout. Your order typically ships in 1-3 business days, and most deliveries arrive in 1-2 weeks from your order. We provide tracking once it ships, and the carrier calls to schedule delivery. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and international are quote-only — call before ordering.
What happens if it arrives damaged?
Look the crate over before you sign, write any damage on the delivery receipt (even "box damaged"), take a couple of photos, and contact us right away. For damage you find after unboxing, contact us as soon as you see it. We'll take it up with the distributor and manufacturer.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, if it's unused, unassembled and in the original packaging. Approved returns carry a 20% restocking fee and the customer covers return freight unless the return is due to our error or a defect — on a large freight item that is real money, which is exactly why we check the size and setup with you before you order.
